HOLY WEEK |
One of the perks of working in a catholic educational institution is to have a holy week break as early as Holy Wednesday. Yeah, we do not have work tomorrow and we are being paid. Holy week is the best time for introspection, and to spend quality time with your family. This is the best opportunity where families do things together observing the Filipino tradition.
Like any other Catholic, of course I have to do my share:
Tomorrow, I’ll stay at home with my husband, maybe cook good food for him, do the household chores and have some self-reflection.
Thursday I will be joining my family for the Mass of the Last Supper/Washing of the Feet to be followed by Visita Iglesia. This is the second time that we will be moving around the city and visit 7 different churches.
On, Friday, we will be going to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy early in the morning for the stations of the cross, early in the sense that we have to be back home by twelve noon in time for the seven last words to be aired on Channel 9. In the evening, we will all go to Baliuag to watch the Prusisyon ng Mga Santo. It is a Lenten procession of more than 70 lavishly decorated floats depicting the Passion and Sufferings of Christ.
Too bad, my husband cannot join me with the activities lined up for the rest of the week. He has to go to work and I cannot force him to be absent because of the training schedule.
Do not worry puppet, we can watch Passion of the Christ on Black Saturday and you’ll have the chance to watch the Salubong on Sunday. |
